Yesterday I posted a tip on how to generate traffic, drive traffic to your website without having to spend any money on it and all it took was working on it for less than an hour. If you have not read that post, you can click on this web traffic link.

Here are some more interesting updates that have come up, that specific page that I was able to drive traffic to has been indexed by Google in less than 24 hours and based on my stats, that specific page is found on Google’s search engine results pages for two different keyword search terms.

By the way, the site I am talking about is not even a properly optimized site, it is a simple blog. I did not even bother to properly optimize it, did not properly use the meta. Neither was I even taking note of keyword density when I wrote the post. Optimizing, keyword density, ensuring meta is

But what does this mean to you?

Traffic generation can be a “which came first, the chicken or the egg scenario”.

Depending on who you are talking to, some people will tell you to do a lot of SEO, then you will get traffic. Others would say that SEO does not work immediately and you will only see results months later.

But before we even get into that debacle, let me first tell you that I really did not optimize this site properly, I did an analysis of this site, this is what I do when I either create websites for my clients or analyze their existing sites for problems. Now I will analyze this simply blog site that I drove traffic to, the same simple un-optimized blog that got ranked on Google for two keywords.

Here are the results of the analysis.

TITLE Tag Analysis

Current Page Title: <TITLE>SEX In Cebu City | Roy Sencio Dot Com</TITLE>

* The Tag processed is 37 characters in length

Status: This Tag is considered acceptable and search engine friendly. However this Tag may or may not be properly optimized or descriptive enough to put your Web page on the top of the search engines. This Tag should contain keywords and keyword phrases that is important to your site. Our recommended maximum number of characters for this tag is 60.

META Description Tag Analysis

Current Meta Description Tag:

META NAME=”Description” CONTENT=”A Portal to Roy Sencio’s Passions | Marketing | Music and Radio | Movies | Musings”>

* The Tag processed is 82 characters in length

Status: This Tag is considered acceptable and search engine friendly. However this Tag may or may not be properly optimized or descriptive enough to put your Web page on the top of the search engines. This Tag should contain keywords and keyword phrases that is important to your site. Our recommended maximum number of characters for this tag is 150.

META Keywords Tag Analysis

Current Meta Keywords Tag:

As you can see, I didn’t even put keywords in the meta, which is something you have to do when properly optimizing webpages. Also, since I was not optimizing for any keywords, I also did not use strategic keyword placement in the page like the header position and in the body.

So you wonder, how is it that despite not optimizing for keywords, I quickly got indexed on Google for two keyword phrases, and these are “cebu escorts”, and “cebu part time”. Well, that’s Google’s system for you; it ranked the page according to the keywords its algorithm believes to be the keywords you are optimizing for.

In a sort of reverse engineering kind of way, SEO is actually optimizing your site for keywords, anticipating that Google will deem your site approriate to index under the keywords you are optimizing for.

So what conclusions can we draw from this exercise?

If you want to get good traffic, optimize your site properly using the tips I mentioned above; then drive traffic to your site through web 2.0 techniques such as social bookmarking. Your site will get found and indexed for certain keyword terms and once you know which terms they are, you can then tweak your site and content, do more optimization in order to get organic search engine traffic that is long term in nature, as Web 2.0 generated traffic is usually short term bursts and not consistent steady flows.
