When you were little, many many years ago; what did you want to be?
Do you remember that far back? Doctor, lawyer.. for those more serious ones, but I bet there were those who thought “ballerina” or painter.
Regardless of what you wanted to do when you were little, it was usually influenced in part by your parents who encouraged you to pursue something.. you know the usual script… “stay in school, get a degree, get a job.” They tell you that as part of the parenting program ingrained in their subconscious as this was what their parents used to tell them when they were little, as was their own parents and so on and so forth… generation back.

Unfortunately, these days, it just isn’t enough to have a job. But let me clarify that further, if it isn’t enough to have a job in any country, it is much worse in the Philippines. The very reason why we have talent flight, what I mean is… the really talented and skilled people; whether professionals or workers; pack their bags and work someplace else, or worse… migrate.
For those like you and I who are left behind (although I will be taking a trip soon); what’s in it for us?
